چکیده
Abstract. All-sky cameras are frequently used to detect cloud cover; however, this work explores the use of these instruments for more complex purpose extracting relative sky radiances. An all-sky camera (SONA202-NF model) with three colour filters narrower than usual kind is configured capture raw images at seven exposure times. A detailed characterization black level, readout noise, hot pixels and linear response carried out. methodology proposed obtain a high dynamic range (HDR) image its uncertainty, which represents radiance (in arbitrary units) maps effective wavelengths. The radiances extracted from normalized by dividing every one channel sum all channel. Then, compared measured different points sun photometer belonging Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET). correlate ones except scattering angles below 10?, probably due some light reflections on fisheye lens dome. Camera wavelengths not coincident; hence, also simulated radiative transfer model same This comparison reveals an uncertainty about 3.3 %, 4.3 % 5.3 467, 536 605 nm, respectively, if specific quality criteria applied.

The MMT All-Sky Camera
The MMT all-sky camera is a low-cost, wide-angle imaging system that takes images of the sky every 10 seconds, day and night. It is based on an Adirondack Video Astronomy StellaCam II video camera and utilizes an auto-iris fisheye lens to allow safe operation under all lighting conditions, even direct sunlight. This combined with the antiblooming characteristics of the StellaCam's detector allo...

An all-sky cloud monitoring system that generates relative opacity maps over many of the world’s premier astronomical observatories is described. Photometric measurements of numerous background stars are combined with simultaneous sky brightness measurements to differentiate thin clouds from sky glow sources such as air glow and zodiacal light. The system takes a continuous pipeline of all-sky ...

The influence of clouds on Earth ́s radiation balance is a key component of the atmospheric system. Therefore, the determination of cloud cover is an important activity traditionally performed by human observations and broadcasted by meteorological services observers in Synop and Metar reports. However, human observations are subject to large errors of estimation, and their temporal resolution i...
